They are baaaaaaaack! My favorite Jrock band is back with a full-length studio album two years after “because you are you”. Aqua Timez announced their sixth album, “Elf no Namida“, two months ago in line with their Japan tour preparation and album promotions. You can find the details of the Shoes and Stargazing Tour here and the release details here and there.
This is the first time I’ve posted about music
which I really intend to do, but I’ve decided to inform you guys anyway. From what I’ve noticed, this is the first time that not even one track from their full-length album is going to be used in an anime. That somehow makes me sad, since anime tie-up songs can really attract listeners, especially those who are new to anime. I hope that after this album, they will have to compose a song for any anime! I just noticed that Elf no Namida is in the album.
Aqua Timez has been known by anime fans because of their catchy songs for popular anime Bleach (ALONES, Sen no Yoru wo Koete, Velonica, MASK) and Naruto Shippuuden (Mayonaka no Orchestra). They also made the ending song for anime movie Brave Story (Ketsui no Asa ni) and the first opening for Star Driver: Kagayaki no Takuto (Gravity Zero). The latest addition to their anime tie-up songs was Eden, which was used as the first ending theme of the second season of Magi, subtitled The Kingdom of Magic.
I love Aqua Timez very much, although some of their songs sound similar. It was “No rain no rainbow” that I first heard from them and that was in 2007. That song was different from the ones we heard from the more popular anime, but comes close in terms of “feel” with Eden. The beautiful and dynamic instrumentals, the uplifting tune of the lyrics, and the inspiring words are what made me listen to them until now. I don’t think I’ll ever stop listening to them. So I am happy that this band is still going strong and makes music that they enjoy making. 🙂 I wish them all the best both in their music career and in their personal lives!
